What is an AI Tiny Desk video?

Tiny Desk Video Generator makes a personalized five-person band video inspired by the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI meme. Check the photos, select Make my band video, and follow the task in Your videos and saved casts. When it is ready, play it and choose Download video. Each video is requested at 14 seconds, 720p, vertical 9:16, using a reference soundtrack. The finished file is an MP4; generated length, framing and likeness can vary.

Upload five photos, check the roles and select Make my band video. Each full video uses 50 credits. Its status and download stay in your account; saving a cast for later is free.

An AI Tiny Desk example from five photos

The example below uses five AI-generated portraits, assigned to the same five roles. The resulting clip is 4.7 seconds, 480 × 854 pixels, with no audio. It was generated on November 4, 2026. The input portraits and the unedited output are shown together so you can compare the faces and camera views.

Compare each role’s input portrait with its appearance in the complete clip. In this example, the lead close-up first shows the right backing singer’s face, then the lead’s. Role placement, likeness, timing and framing can vary between renders.

An AI Tiny Desk band for friends, teams and group chats

The fun is in the casting: give the close-up to the guest of honor, put a friend on the sax, and pair two bandmates on backing vocals. It is designed around a recognizable performance rather than writing a new song.

How to make your Outstanding AI Tiny Desk video

Start with the five roles, then match each role to one photo. You do not need to work out the cast from a group photo.

AI Tiny Desk camera layout: five people, three views

The performance template uses three views: keys and two backing singers together, a lead close-up and a saxophone close-up. The stills below show this shot layout. Choose one photo for each role; generated role placement can vary. The separate generated example above shows an actual result.

Choose photos for your AI Tiny Desk band

Use one person per image with a clear, well-lit face. Keep the eyes visible and avoid sunglasses, heavy filters and cropped-off faces. Each upload is assigned to its named role; the form does not automatically identify people in a group shot.

What is the Outstanding AI Tiny Desk meme?

The Outstanding Tiny Desk AI meme recasts people into a clip of Charlie Wilson performing “Outstanding” at NPR Music’s Tiny Desk. The familiar setting, expressions and camera cuts make the joke recognizable even when the performers change.

Tiny Desk Video Generator is an independent project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by NPR, NPR Music, Charlie Wilson or The Gap Band.

Cast all five roles in your AI Tiny Desk band

Tiny Desk Video Generator asks you to choose all five performers, one photo per named role. This suits a complete group cast: each friend gets a specific place in the band. All five slots are required; the form does not fill empty roles with default performers.

Choose Tiny Desk Video Generator to give each friend a named role and keep your five-person lineup together.

Choose this casting workflow when your goal is the five-role Outstanding performance. A single-person singing-photo tool serves a different task: animating one portrait. A music generator serves another: composing a new track. A general video editor offers manual control over cuts and sound.

AI Tiny Desk video format, soundtrack and price

Each band video is requested at 14 seconds, 720p, vertical 9:16, and delivered as an MP4. Reference audio guides the performance and soundtrack. It is not a clone of the voices in your photos; generated timing and likeness can vary.

1 video for $4.99; 5 videos for $9.99; 20 videos for $15.99. Prices are in USD, paid once. A full video uses 50 credits. Credits last 365 days. No subscription.

We do not add a site watermark to paid MP4 downloads. AI-generated details or marks may still appear in the video.

Finished videos remain in your account without an automatic expiry. Download a copy for your own archive. To request removal of a video, open Settings → Support tickets and include its video ID. Deleting a source photo does not remove an existing video or a copy you downloaded or shared.

Saving a cast keeps your five role assignments and notes together. Saving and restoring a cast does not spend credits.

Your AI Tiny Desk photos and permissions

Uploaded originals remain in your account until you delete them; there is no automatic expiry. Replacing a photo or clearing a browser draft does not delete the previous upload.

To delete an upload, open Photo privacy → Manage your photos, sign in, choose Delete photo and confirm. The original is removed from our active photo storage and its access links stop working. A saved cast that uses it will need a replacement. A photo in an active band render can be deleted after the task finishes.

Photos are stored privately in Cloudflare R2. Your signed-in account can view its uploads. When you request a video, selected photos are sent to Kie.ai through access links that expire after one hour. The server creates fresh links for a new generation request.

We do not use uploads to train our own models. Band video generation sends the selected photos, performance instructions, reference video and audio to Kie.ai for Seedance 2.5 processing. Provider-side handling and retention follow their policies. Deleting an original here does not retract a copy already sent for processing or delete an existing video. Request help with provider copies through your account’s support tickets.

Your browser draft is separate from uploaded files. You can clear the form or browser site data. Deleting a photo does not delete downloaded files, receipts or payment records.

Sign in to save your cast and return to it later. Your saved photos require an account with access to that cast.

Your uploaded cast photos are saved to your account. You must sign in to view them. Saved casts keep the role assignments so you can restore them later.

Each account can store up to 100 uploaded photos in total across its saved casts. Delete unused photos from Photo privacy → Manage your photos to free space. Replacing a photo does not delete the previous upload.

The cast form checks file format and size. You choose which person belongs in each role.

Use photos you have permission to use. Replacing a photo changes your lineup; it does not delete the earlier upload.

AI Tiny Desk questions, answered

What is an AI Tiny Desk video?

Tiny Desk Video Generator makes a personalized five-person band video inspired by the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI meme. Assign one photo each to the lead singer, keyboard player, left backing singer, right backing singer and saxophone player. All five roles are required.

How many photos does an AI Tiny Desk band need?

Five separate photos: one for the lead singer, one for the keyboard player, two for the backing singers and one for the saxophone player. All five role slots must be filled.

How do I prepare a group photo for an AI Tiny Desk video?

Crop each person into a separate picture, then put each crop into its named role. Tiny Desk Video Generator does not automatically split a group photo.

How do the three AI Tiny Desk camera views show all five people?

The performance template uses three camera views. The keyboard player and two backing singers appear together; the lead singer and saxophone player appear in separate close-ups. Five roles does not mean five people in every frame. Generated role placement can vary; compare the unedited generated example with its input portraits.

Which image formats and sizes can I use for AI Tiny Desk?

JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 10 MB per photo. Use one clearly visible face per photo. HEIC is not supported by the current five-photo form.

How do I generate and download my AI Tiny Desk video?

Upload a photo for each role, confirm permission and click Make my band video. A full video uses 50 credits. Watch its status in Your videos and saved casts; when ready, play it and click Download video for the MP4. Save cast for later is a separate free action. All five roles are required.

How do Private cast notes help me plan my AI Tiny Desk band?

It is an optional note saved with your cast, such as an outfit idea or a reminder for the group. It is restored with the cast.

How do I save my AI Tiny Desk cast to my account?

Sign in to save your cast and return to it later. Your saved photos require an account with access to that cast.

Can I change my AI Tiny Desk roles or return to my band later?

Yes. Replace the photo in that role and save the cast. Sign in again, open Your videos and saved casts on this page and choose Use this cast to restore the photos and notes.

How do I play an AI Tiny Desk video with sound?

Tap the speaker button on the performance at the top of this page to turn sound on. Tap it again to mute. The separate generated five-photo example below has no audio.

How do I manage and delete my AI Tiny Desk photos?

Photos remain until you delete them. Open Photo privacy → Manage your photos, choose Delete photo and confirm. Replacing a photo changes the role assignment but does not delete the old upload. Deleting an original does not delete videos already generated from it.

How many AI Tiny Desk cast photos can I store?

Each account can store up to 100 uploaded photos in total across its saved casts. Delete unused photos from Photo privacy → Manage your photos to free space. Replacing a photo does not delete the previous upload.

How are AI Tiny Desk photos matched to the band roles?

You assign each photo to a named role. The form checks file format and size; it does not choose the performers for you.

How much does an AI Tiny Desk video cost?

1 video for $4.99; 5 videos for $9.99; 20 videos for $15.99. Prices are in USD, paid once. A full video uses 50 credits. Credits last 365 days. No subscription. Saving a cast is free. Failed renders automatically return credits; unused packs can be refunded within 14 days under the refund policy.

How are my AI Tiny Desk cast photos kept private?

Your uploaded cast photos require a signed-in account with access to that cast. They are not the public example photos shown on the homepage.

Whose photos can I use for my AI Tiny Desk band?

Use photos you have permission to use and get the pictured people’s agreement. A photo upload does not give you permission to impersonate someone or use their voice.

How do I keep or remove a finished AI Tiny Desk video?

Finished videos remain in your account without an automatic expiry. Download a copy for your own archive. To request removal of a video, open Settings → Support tickets and include its video ID. Deleting a source photo does not remove an existing video or a copy you downloaded or shared.

Does my paid AI Tiny Desk MP4 have a site watermark?

We do not add a site watermark to paid MP4 downloads. AI-generated details or marks may still appear in the video.

Who makes this AI Tiny Desk video generator?

Tiny Desk Video Generator is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NPR, NPR Music’s Tiny Desk, Charlie Wilson or The Gap Band.
